Even the song titles revealed little. My friends had seen Die Kreuzen with Corrosion of Conformity a few months before and had been raving ever since about this incredible punk band with decidedly unpunk hair. The poster inside these guys have posters? And then I put on the opening track — Jesus. But I was picking up on something else. Not quite. This was an odd bird.

  5. Die Kreuzen started off on the hardcore kick blossomed by Black Flag and their minions, but soon progressed onto something a little more unique. Their first album showcases their most punk stylings - kind of like a mile-a-second Minor Threat/Discharge hybrid - whilst their second LP, October File, took a radical change of direction/5(7).

  8. A black vinyl version with this sleeve/label combination also exists. Legend has it that the red vinyl issue was a mistake at the pressing plant. Apparently the plant had just finished pressing a batch of another T&G release (possibly the Butthole Surfers' "Rembrandt Pussyhorse" LP) and the Die Kreuzen plates just went in straight after, with.
